With a core that consists of a very thin layer of high alloy double X VG-12 grade carbon steel and an extreme hardness of 61°, every cut made with the knife is a pleasure - providing a delicate, even cut every time. Due to the very special construction using elements such as cobalt and manganese, the blade combines immense durability and resistance, ensuring a long working life for many years.

Everything about the 1778 knife is premium - from the hand-honed blade to the specially-selected plumwood handle with a unique colour pattern. Even the handle is worked by hand by Dick's experts. Really sturdy, thick, good quality steel. Only used twice so far but appears to remain stable at high temperatures - no warping or bending. Chose these as they go well in both the oven and on the Big Joe BBQ at very high temperatures. A great present for a BBQ-lover!
